My Mom would say yes…

But I’d say your crazy to wait that long and here’s why.

You can have a membership site ready to sell in 15 minutes... That’s a membership site the has a forum, sells courses, protects content based on membership level, is hosted, runs WordPress.. you name it – it has it.

Selling Information Products Is a Waste Of Time

Don’t bother selling information products they’re a huge waste of time!

I made my first online sales in 2001, five years after I started trying.  I’m not proud of that stat, but it’s true.

I did almost everything wrong.   Mostly because I was treating the web like something it wasn’t  – a digital transaction.  Getting caught up in the technical aspects of online selling is easy and today it’s the biggest problem online sellers face.

A sale whether online or offline is always a psychological transaction, not a digital transaction and if you forget that your sales will suffer.

Is This Sales Tactic Deceptive?

Looks Can be Deceiving!

I learned a valuable marketing lesson at my local grocery store this week.  Definitely one my Mother Never Told Me.  Pricing your courses, products, services and information products is hard.  For most it’s more just trial and error, nothing really scientific about it.

For more sophisticated marketers, its’ all about testing, tracking more testing with split testing and multivariate software doing the heavy lifting.

There one thing that has always interested me is the psychology of pricing.  This weeks visit to a local big box grocery chain store that is now competing with a price slashing Walmart next door reminded me how much perceived value is worth.

For sure there is more than pricing than the sale price, heck we test all sorts of pricing models like a “pay as you go” or “bundling” and we’ll continue to test and tweak.  That’s the fun part of business!
